PFOS (perfluoroctaansulfonaten) is één chemische stof binnen de PFAS-groep, die gebruikt wordt om producten zoals textiel water- en vuilafstotend te maken. Ook zitten er hoge concentraties van deze stof in het schuim van brandblussers. PFOS is sinds 2008 verboden in veel toepassingen.
